EntreChem focuses on novel products obtained by metabolic pathway engineering, particularly combinatorial biosynthesis of bacterial natural products produced by microbial fermentation with application in the pharmaceutical (antitumorals, antibiotics, antifungals) or agricultural (bioinsecticides, herbicides) markets.

EntreChem is also active on biocatalysis, offering enantiomerically pure products as well as services for custom synthesis of optically pure compounds, helping our clients in the scale-up technology transfer process, as needed, and, when possible, meeting the goals of sustainable chemistry.

Key Persons involved in the Biocascades Project

Dr. Francisco Morís is the Managing Director of Entrechem.

Dr. Francisco Morís received his Ph.D. in 1994 from the University of Oviedo (Spain) under the supervision of Prof. Vicente Gotor. Following his Ph.D. studies, he worked two years in the labs of Prof. Chi-Huey Wong at The Scripps Research Institute in La Jolla (USA).

Dr. Javier González-Sabín is the Biocatalysis Project Manager of Entrechem. He will supervise ESR6.

Dr. Javier González-Sabín (born 1979) graduated in Chemistry in 2001 at the University of Oviedo and carried out his Ph.D. under the supervision of Prof. Vicente Gotor and Dr. F. Rebolledo. His Ph.D. research involved the chemoenzymatic preparation of biologically active compounds and the study of the mechanism for the enzymatic aminolysis reaction. During his doctoral studies, he spent a stay at the University Jaume I (Castellón) with Prof. Santiago V. Luis, working on supramolecular chemistry and asymmetric catalysis.
