Short Bio

My name is Florian Busch. I did my Bachelor’s degree in biochemistry at the Ruhr-University Bochum (Germany) with the focal point of organic chemistry. Within my Master’s studies I focused more on the field of microbiology. Together with my experience in organic chemistry I applied this for biocatalysis in my Master’s Thesis. Now I am facing the new challenge to combine two enzyme reactions. In my PhD I will work with aminotransferases, which will produce the cofactor for the other reaction, in combination with amino acid hydroxylases. Additionally I am looking forward to work at DSM to extend my knowledge of biocatalysis by the aspect of the process formulation and get insight into industrial working methods.
